Murree welcomed its first snowfall of the season, ushering in a winter wonderland. The administration swiftly executed the Murree Contingency Plan with utmost precision, ensuring a seamless experience for both locals and tourists alike.

Tourist guidance took center stage, accompanied by a flurry of activities to combat the snowy challenges. Snowblowers and other advanced machinery were strategically deployed at 16 key points, working tirelessly to clear pathways. Additionally, proactive measures were taken with salt spraying at ten different locations, safeguarding against slippery roads caused by the enchanting snowfall.

Deputy Commissioner of Murree, Agha Zahir Abbas Shirazi, highlighted the collaborative efforts of the PDM and 18 various departments operating within the Murree Contingency Plan. Maintaining a 24-hour vigil in different shifts, they stand prepared to extend a helping hand to tourists and manage any unforeseen emergencies that may arise during this snowy season.

To fortify the preparedness, Secretary C & W allocated a substantial Rs 100 million, ensuring that the gears of the operation run smoothly. Thirteen facility centers, doubling as control rooms, are operational, enhancing the coordination of relief efforts. Adding a high-tech touch, digital monitoring and 26 CCTV cameras are actively surveilling the region, providing an extra layer of safety and security.
